Terms of use
Straightforward terms for a working record book.
These terms cover the Food Hygiene Record Book iPhone app, business subscriptions, complimentary access, optional cloud backup and team access.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
1. This agreement
Food Hygiene Record Book is provided by Faisal Badshah, trading as Faisal Badshah Creation ("we", "us"), based in Southampton, United Kingdom. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies. Where Apple's licensed application terms conflict with these terms, Apple's terms apply to the licence itself and these terms govern the service we provide around it.
2. What the app is, and what it is not
The app helps you record and organise food-safety information: equipment and food-temperature checks, cleaning, food waste, SFBB diary and review entries, date labels and shelf life, goods received, timed food batches, HACCP controls, staff training, fire safety and inspection reports.
It is a record-keeping tool. It is not legal, regulatory or professional advice. It does not replace your legal duties, your food-safety management procedures, a documented HACCP system where one is required, or the judgement of an environmental health officer. It is not endorsed by the UK Government or the Food Standards Agency. You remain responsible for the accuracy, completeness and lawfulness of everything you record.
3. Accounts and eligibility
Daily record keeping works without an account. Cloud backup and team access require an account with a verified email address. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
We may suspend or end access to cloud services where an account is used unlawfully, to attack or abuse the service, or to infringe someone else's rights.
4. Business subscriptions
Paid business access is an auto-renewable subscription costing £4.99 per business per month in the United Kingdom. One plan covers the business and every team member the owner authorises; team members do not pay separately.
The app may provide a one-time 14-day app-access trial when a trial-enabled version is first opened on an eligible installation. The app trial is not an Apple subscription: it starts without an account or card, does not auto-renew and cannot charge you. A paid subscription starts only if the business owner chooses to subscribe and confirms the purchase through Apple.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Prices may change. We will give reasonable notice, and a change will never apply to a period you have already paid for.
5. Complimentary access
We may grant a business free access for a fixed period or indefinitely, for example during a trial, for support reasons or for an approved partner. Complimentary access is a discretionary grant, does not start an Apple subscription, and can never silently turn into a charge.
We may extend, shorten, replace, end or decline to renew a complimentary grant. If complimentary access ends, daily records remain available on the device and the business can continue viewing, creating and editing its local records. New inspection-report exports, cloud backup and synchronisation, and team invitations or collaboration pause until active access is restored.
6. Refunds and cancellation
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue or process refunds for an App Store purchase, and we cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.
Deleting your app account or deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple Account subscription settings if you do not want it to renew.
If a refund or chargeback is granted, the corresponding business access ends.
7. Your records stay yours
You own the information you enter. We claim no ownership of it and do not sell it, use it for advertising or use it to train models.
Ending a subscription, letting a grant expire or having access revoked never deletes your records. The business can continue viewing, creating and editing records stored locally on the device. New inspection-report exports, cloud backup and synchronisation, and team invitations or collaboration pause until active access is restored. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you must retain for a legal or regulatory period.
8. Team access
A business owner may invite people by verified email address and assign a role. Owners and administrators are responsible for who they invite, the role they assign and removing access when someone leaves. Inviting someone means their email address and display name become visible to other authorised members of that business.
If you enter personal information about staff or other people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so. See our privacy policy.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Cloud backup and team access depend on third-party providers and on your own connection. Daily record keeping is designed to continue working offline.
We may add, change or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will give reasonable notice and you may cancel.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully, attempt to breach its security or access another business's records, reverse engineer or resell it, or upload malicious content. Do not falsify food-safety records: doing so may be a criminal offence and is your responsibility, not ours.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete information entered by a user, a failure to follow the food business's own procedures, device loss, or services outside our reasonable control. We remain responsible for loss that is reasonably foreseeable and caused by our breach of these terms or negligence.
Where liability to a customer acting wholly for business purposes can fairly and lawfully be limited, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount paid for the service in that period. This limitation does not apply to anything that cannot legally be excluded and does not restrict mandatory rights or remedies for digital content or services.
12. General
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory protection available to you in your country of residence.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms when the service or the law changes; the latest version and its date remain on this page.
